Boston City Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson was arrested Friday morning and faces federal charges related to an alleged kickback scheme. The charges were announced by the U.S. Attorney’s office, and she is set to appear in the Moakley Courthouse in South Boston later the same day. According to the indictment, Fernandes Anderson faces five counts of aiding and abetting wire fraud, and one count of aiding and abetting theft of federal funds, stemming from a scheme where she allegedly arranged for a staffer to kick back a portion of their bonus.
